On a chilly day in March, a brave group of nine G2 riders set off on the 75 mile Surrey Cyclone. Big thanks to Neal for organising this.
The first half was not particularly daunting. There were a few hills here and there, but nothing too taxing, so we were cruising along nicely. Then the final 30 miles came along. And the hills started to get nasty. I think we did most of the climbing in that final 2 hours! Anyway, it was a great day out and we survived!! A big thanks to the organisers of this event as well. The planning was perfect and feed stations nicely stocked with energy sustaining stuff. Sign-posting was 10/10 as well. A special mention for Hannah, who solo-ed the route in a phenomenal time of around 4 hours, which gave her a Gold standard. We are not worthy! Once again, well done everyone. https://www.ukcyclingevents.co.uk/events/surrey-cyclone-sportive/ Neal's report from Strava A great day out from the group 2a team to Surrey. An early start saw the team lulled into a false sense of security with rolling West Sussex lanes. The hills hit around 50 miles finishing with an epic climb of Alderbrook lane to the peak! Great day out and a pint to finish! |
