Watford-Cambridge-Watford

On Sunday 7th April a number of slightly unhinged WVS riders set off for a rather long bike ride to Cambridge and back. For many (and me) it was probably one of their longest, if not THE longest, bike ride they'd ever attempted.
Leaving at 7am, we had a constant headwind all the way to Cambridge, but our group were fortunate enough to have Martin from Group 1 with us, who spent most of the ride into Cambridge shielding us from the wind. So, Martin, we are EVER so grateful for your support!
We finally got to Cambridge and spent 30 minutes in a cafe eating everything we could get our hands on. It's easy to forget, or underestimate, how much you need to eat and drink on long rides like this.
So, fully refreshed and with a slight tail-wind we set off back to Watford.
We had a quick 2nd coffee stop at Hertford, with a mere 23 miles to home and then set off on the last leg of this EPIC ride.
We were in the saddle for nearly 8 hours, but the great company meant the day was 100% enjoyment and it really didn't feel like 8 hours of cycling.
Apparently, we're doing this again in a few weeks. Well, I'M not... or maybe I will... hmmmm..
Cheers to Rob for the insane idea.
